Gradual Psalms

The "Songs of Ascents" refer to Psalms 120 to 134, which are located at the very center of the Bible. These fifteen psalms are said to have been sung by ancient Hebrew pilgrims on their journey to Jerusalem. Jerusalem, situated at an altitude of approximately 700 meters, represents a journey that requires continuous ascent.
For this mural, I drew inspiration from Psalm 121, integrating my personal experiences of climbing Taiwan's high mountains and recent readings on mountaineering. These texts, memories, and notes have been interwoven and transformed into a sketch before the painting, allowing thoughts to give birth to shapes, colors, and lines, creating a dialogue between text and image within the space.
I invite the participation of viewers, hoping they will become a third voice in this conversation, generating more echoes and resonance within the space. If, as you rise from your seat, a fleeting thought suddenly arises in your mind, then you have already set foot on this path.
